Course Description
This course will enhance confidence in teaching Stage 6 PDHPE.

Participants will examine how to effectively construct an assessment task, associated marking criteria and provide meaningful feedback to students. Literacy methods to ensure students are prepared for HSC style examination questions as well as exploring what makes a Band 6 response will also be examined so teachers can take these on board in their own teaching.

Participants will engage in a mini HSC marking simulation. Participants will be able to share ideas and make connections in a collegial environment.

Minimum and Max enrolment numbers: 6 – 20

5.1.2 Develop, select and use informal and formal, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess student learning.
5.2.2 Provide timely, effective and appropriate feedback to students about their achievement relative to their learning goals.

Completing Enhancing Student Literacy Practices in Stage 6 PDHPE Assessment will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF addressing Standard Descriptor(s) 5.1.2 and 5.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
