Course Description
This course is designed to guide teachers and support staff in understanding and preparing individualised support and plans for students in primary and secondary schools, and utilises key knowledge necessary for education for a growing percentage of students in the mainstream classroom.
It uses classroom ready strategies to assist teachers and support staff to analyse the individual needs of the students under their care, as well as exploring particular factors that increase engagement or, alternatively, behaviour issues in students.


This course guides school staff to the:

  • Legislative and funding requirements of the NCCD and its documentation
  • Process required for effective completion of NCCD and NESA demands
  • Variety of ways that individualised support is provided in the classroom and how to create workable classroom plans
  • Uses of resources such as social stories and comic strip conversations, especially used to support students living with autism, and which can support learning within the classroom
