Course Description
This is a hands-on workshop which will provide strategies to:
– simplify 30 years of complex history into 4 themes to ‘shrink the content’
– provide programming and teaching hacks
– maximise students’ higher order thinking skills
– explore assessment ideas and analysis of past HSC questions.
Teachers will leave with loads of resources, ready program and assessment ideas.

Teaching Standards
- 2.1.2 Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging teaching activities.
- 2.2.2 Organise content into coherent, well-sequenced learning and teaching programs.
- 2.3.2 Design and implement learning and teaching programs using knowledge of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements.
- 3.2.2 Plan and implement well-structured learning and teaching programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning.

Completing Conflict in Indochina 1954-79 (HSC Modern History) will contribute 6 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and Assessment of NSW Curriculum/EYLF addressing Standard Descriptor 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
